The Lindblom Boys Basketball Team season is just getting underway. This years team has a mixture of veteran leadership with seniors Charles Edge, Jordan Stewart, Chris Edomwande, and Louis Flowers along with young talent with Nasir Turner and Jalen Morris. Their first tournament was a success, in which they took 3rd place in the Stagg Thanksgiving tournament.
“So far, I see a big improvement in our team chemistry, and it felt good bringing back something to Lindblom” said Charles Edge. The Stagg Thanksgiving tournament was a success for many individual Lindblom players as well. Junior Paris Edwards and Senior Louis Flowers were named to the All-Tournament team, and senior Jordan Stewart recorded his first career double-double in the last game of this Tournament.
The Boys will start a 3 game homestand on December 10th against Harper in which all 3 games are conference games. “I’m looking forward to the support of Lindblom students in our next 3 games, it will be needed greatly” Jordan Stewart said. Stewart also noted that last years attendance was not as good as it could have been, and that the school spirit at Lindblom needs to be improved in order for his senior year to be a success.
So far, the Eagles hold a record of 3-2 through 5 games which puts them above .500 for the season. Many players on the team believe they can win the next 3 games in a row, which will not only put them at 5-2, but also first place in conference.
The hard work the eagles have put in over the offseason has proven to work, and will continue to. Be on the lookout for them in the playoffs and beyond. Go Eagles!
