Along with a new coach, Lindblom returned two four year starters in Lee Smith and Jabari Butler. Coach Laney felt as though LMSA’s football team had the opportunity to go undefeated in this year’s season and create a playoff berth one that we haven’t had in recent years. Along with the dynamic seniors Lindblom features a wide array of talent in this year’s junior class. Offensive Linemen captain Nick Thomas aims to lead the team through the trenches. Christopher Tripplet was an up and coming junior defensive back who was said to be ready to have and a break out year. Courtney Hill has been waiting to be the premier running back since his freshman year of high school and proved the doubters wrong this past year.
He recently left Kelvin Park High School to be a part of something new. Ms. Davis got Coach Laney to join the Lindblom team in June of this past year. He wishes he could have came to the school during the winter. Finishing with a 4-5 season Lindblom has left many with what ifs. But with the young core of athletes returning there is nothing but a bright upside of what to come. Coach Laney sees great promise in freshman Frederick Mead III and thinks with the right work ethnic he can grow to become an all state player. All in all the Lindblom football game has a lot to look forward to a good season next year. And plan on working out after school when thanksgiving is over.
