Three Lindblom teams took second place in their individual competitions to lead the overall math team to a second place finish at a tournament over the weekend.
The ICTM Regional Math contest at UIC on Saturday pitted Lindblom against teams from Northside College Prep, Von Stueben and Lake View.
With only four members, the junior-senior eight-person team took second place at the Saturday event. Team members included Jaylon Tucker, Veronica Alejandro, Carlos Gutierrez and Eduardo Alejandro.
The calculator team also came in second place, led my Brenda Macias, Jaylon, Eduardo, and Andres Casillas.
Another second place was won by LMSA in the oral competition, in which students give presentations on college-level mathematics topics. The team consisted of Andres, and Armani Alexander.
These events led to LMSA's second place overall finish at the event.
In addition to the competitions above, a number of Eagles were making their first appearance at the annual contest, including Nija Bradford, Carolina Servin, Kwadjo Akompong, Caleb Soler, Adan Jimenez and Marcos Gomez. All performed well in their rookie outing.
